All "finger foods" - you can prepare them in advance and store them in the fridge in coloured containers, so you know whats in them and you don't have to keep opening them and look inside. One for carrot ts,one for celery, cold meat, cheese, etc. Fruit of the week, after the meal. For hot meals, the same, I use to prepare a lot of my meals in advance on Sunday, when I cooked the big family meal, like the roast or chicken. Then I would also make the meat loaf, scallop potatoes, and a lot of times you just make a plate and microwave it. You know what she likes, so cook to suite her and add your choices for her to try. Let her watch you making it, let her smell the spices, etc. I did that with my girls and today they are just GREAT cooks - their husbands are sooo, sooo grateful. It all starts at home. By the way, when she helps you with the meal she will develop an understanding of how long it takes to make it, and her "patience" will develop. Give her a kiss for me, I just LOVE babies, children, young adults - before WE big adults start to influence their lives. From the mouth of babes, comes the truth!. If this is your first child, you will learn that statement, like the rest of the mothers out there, you just Never know What Your Child is Going to Say.

We have a two year old, but we have had great success with those frozen chicken nuggets which we pop in the micowave for 1 minute and he loves them. Something new is that we now use a small george forman grill..wow...he loves the fresh cooked chicken and steak strips...you only need to cook it for a minute or so and he gets soft fresh chicken etc...worth a try and we can eat it too...

Soup has always been my stand by along with grilled cheese. My daughter just had her 9 month appt and I asked the doctor about giving her finger foods, he suggested holding off on hot dogs for now, they are a choking hazard. When your ready to give her hotdogs cut the hotdog in 1/2 lengthwise and then cut it into pieces you don't want to just give her little round slices.
