If you want to get the stew smell out or your house, add some cinnnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg and any other aromatice whole spices you have on hand to a about 2 cups of water and allow to simmer on top of the stove. I allow the mixture to cool and keep it in a container the fridge to reheat when the house stinks from fish etc, Throw out the stew.
