how many chefs work in a main restaurant's kitchen?
in a big restaurant such as chilis or friday in a main street, around how many chefs work in the kitchen ??
i need this for my project i would really appreciate if you help because i honestly have no clue!







There is ususally just one head chef, with a whole bunch of underlings and novice chefs, atleas that was my experience in a resturant
I would not call them chefs, maybe cooks or fry cooks. The menu is pre made, pre frozen and warmed up. A Chef would be found in a much better class of restaurant.
At a place that churns out as much food as a Chili’s or Friday’s would, you’d probably have about 8. Typically, the ranking goes as follows:
Executive chef (head chef)
Sous chef (assistant to head)
Line cook (there are usually 2-3 line cooks)
Grill cook
Fry cook
Pantry cook (in charge of breads, salads)
If you’re talking about a "real" restaurant, you’d also have an expediter and a dessert/pastry chef
