I've made it many times. The first thing is to take 2 pieces of alum. foil, each 12 inches or so long. Fold them in thirds and then cross them into the bottom of the crockpot and up the sides like a plus sign +. They provide the handle for getting the meatloaf out. Then I make my usual meatloaf recipe but I add an extra egg as binder.

YUM!

Here's a recipe that I have used. Not sure if there's a secret, but it turned out.

Ingredients
18 roundcheese crackers (Ritz)
1/2 cup shreddedcheddar cheese
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons mincedgreen peppers
1/4 cup chili sauce
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 lbs lean ground beef

Directions

Crush the crackers with a rolling pin or blender.

In a bowl, mix together the crushed crackers, shredded cheddar, onion, green pepper, chili sauce, milk, eggs, salt, and pepper.

Mix in ground beef, and form into a 7-inch round loaf.

Place in crock pot.

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until done.

I found this recipe at at www.allrecipies.com on one of the reviews somone commented that they expected it would fall apart, but it didn't. Also another person commented that adding 2 tablespoons of brown sugar made it too sweet so they used 1 tablespoon of brown sugar the second time around. This recipe got 4 1/2 stars out of a possible 5 stars.

INGREDIENTS
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
2/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
2 teaspoons dried minced onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well (mixture will be moist.) Shape into a round loaf; place in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or until a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees F.

In a small bowl, whisk the ketchup, brown sugar, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Spoon over the meat loaf. Cook 15 minutes longer or until heated through. Let stand for 10-15 minutes before cutting.

maybe if you put a cooking rack in the crock pot??/It will be soggy and fall apart like you say because all the fat it will be sitting in<<<Try using a cookie cooling rack and see how it turns out,,,I bet if its not setting in all the juices it will be firmer,,Also try more bread crumbs.
GOOD LUCK<<<<<<<<<<<,,

Let us know???I've never tried this and would like to try,,,,You be the tester"""lol
