How can I stop severe underarm sweat?

Okay, I’m thirteen years old and I have really bad underarm sweating. I have no clue why- I apply deodorant and take showers regularly. It’s really embarrassing because I have to keep my arms down all day, and I’m constantly self concious about it. Unfortunately for me, I don’t have anyone that I can talk to about it without them laughing at me or not taking it seriously. I really want someone to recommend a perfect, quick, and dry deodorant that I can use and buy at a local grocery store or something. Is that possible, or do I have to get one at a drug store? Can I buy this without an adult? Oh, yeah- do you guys have any "at home" secrets to stop the sweating? You know, like apply baking soda or whatever(just an example)? It’s really severe, and I have no idea what to do. It’s ruining my life and making me somewhat insecure. Please help me! It’s greatly appreciated. ^_^
It’s not that I have Body Odor, it’s that my underarms are constantly wet. I have tons of antipersperant deodorant, and they don’t work. I can’t take it!

If you are 13, you are likely at the point where you are sweating more than you used to because you have reached the age of sexual maturity. This increases body hair, activates sweat glands (so that you can put off more scent to attract mates – it’s an animal thing), and the scent of your sweat changes (same reason). Using anti-perspirant will help reduce the quantity and a combo anti-perspirant/deodorant will help mask the smell. I personally can’t use anti-perspirant because it causes a rash, but deodorant does it for me. If it is too unwieldy, check with your doctor. Some conditions will cause undue sweating and should be treated with medication.

    put on deornant

  3. Sugarbaby says:

Change deodorant often ( the brand) also make sure the one you use has an anti -perspirant in it. A solid May work better for you than a spray.or v/v

use anti perspirant/deodorant. deodorant only mask the smell and anti perspirant stops the sweat. so use the ones that are labelled as antiperspirant/deodorant. brands differ so it’s trial and error on that part. you can buy at local grocery store or even drugstores, you don’t need an adult to buy one.

Is the problem that you have sweat, in other words, are wet, or is the problem that you have body odor? If it’s excessive sweat you need to see a doctor. If it is odor any regular deoderant will help, but most have aluminum in them and aren’t the healthiest things in the world.

The best thing I’ve found is using chlorophyll. It is kind of a juice made from alfalfa plants and helps clean you out from the inside, so to speak, when you drink it. Take a tablespoon or two every day. It takes about a month to get the full effect, so don’t expect it overnight. I like the Nature’s Sunshine brand. You can probably find it at most health food stores.

Mitchum is the deodorant for you – go pick it up as as soon as possible. They have it for men and woman in different fragrances.

Hi there! I know exactly what you are talking about. I use faithfully a deodorant called "Certain Dri." I buy it at the local drug store (Walgreens) although I had to ask them to order it the first time. It is the best thing!! You use it at night and it works all day long. It’s wonderful. I still use my regular stuff in the morning but Certain Dri is wonderful! You will not regret it….

First of all…obviously you are severly insecure…not just somewhat.

But, the first way to stop is to be more secure. I’m sure that worrying is probably making your sweating worse. (Just a guess)

Well, there are so many diferent deoderants to choose from. BAN seems to work well for me…solid…very thick. Also LADY"S SPEED STICK or TEEN SPIRIT STICK. There are also SECRET and SUAVE. they all work good.

Put on a little extra if you need to.

Try to keep as cool as possible. Also don’t get mad…upset or anything…as often as possible. Because anger or crying can cause persperation…and in your case more.

Use an antipersperant…use it to help stop sweating…along with a deoderant…3 times a day. Once in the morning before school. And twice at the different times a day…(the deoderant…you should only put the antipersperant on once or twice)

Don’t worry. Stay cool and be proud of the rest of you.

Poor baby I feel your pain. You should try Mitchum or either Arm and Hamor. Good luck to you and I hope that it works out. Being self conscious about something you can’t control can be a bummer.
