I love the outtakes on the most recent vids.
This one brought tears to my eyes. My grandma grew up in the same era as Clara, but she passed away in 1991 in her 70′s. Here Clara has her holiday dishes, Grandma had hers. The one thing I never took the time to learn from Grandma was candy making. I’ll never have Divinity like that again. No one else makes it the same.

HGbunny, you will never be able to make anything exactly like your grandma made. I can make gumbo exactly as my Grammy instructs while standing beside me. Great gumbo, but it will never taste like hers… there is a vibe that infuses into a dish that can not be duplicated … which is what makes them SO special and soulnourishing

These are the recipes my Nana and mother used to make when I was a young girl. My mother never wrote them down or share them, so now with Clara’s book I can finally have a bit of home. Thank you Clara!

If only I could grow old with someone like you Clara. Finding a women who enjoys the simple things in life and the love of her family is rare. I’ll bet you were a joy to love and grow old with.
