You might try different kinds of fish, because they are super healthy. One of my favorite lunches is a salad, a can of Japanese sardines (soy sauce flavor), and some whole wheat crackers, and a piece of fruit. This is very filling, and the sardine bones provide a lot of calcium. Canned salmon will do the same thing, but do they pack salmon in a 3 oz. (100 g.) size? I think canned salmon is very bland.
Steamed broccoli and shrimp is also super-easy. Just put a little water in a pot, add a steamer or a heat-proof colander, bring the water to a boil. Add the fresh broccoli (or frozen), and steam about 2 minutes. Add the shrimp (I usually use frozen), and steam for another 2 minutes, or until the shrimp is cooked. Top with soy sauce or a tiny bit of oyster sauce, and serve with whole wheat bread or brown rice. You might want a little extra meat with this (you can steam some chicken in the bottom for four minutes, then add the broc, then the shrimp). Have a salad with it, if it’s dinner.
I love lettuce salad, baked chicken and tons of salsa, too. (I often sprinkle a little cheese on it.)
For breakfast, I always have an egg fried in 1 tsp. of olive oil, a small piece of whole wheat toast, and a piece of fruit, preferably citrus. I find this keeps me full most of the morning, unlike cereal which always leaves me raving hungry by 10 a.m. If I have leftover steamed spinach, I have that with the egg, too.
The dark green and orange veggies are powerhouses of nutrition, so try to eat at least three servings of these a day.
Good luck!
i dont know about you, but i love grilled veggies- peppers onions tomatos etc.grill in a little olive oil. good for you and yummy and veggies you can eat AS MANY AS YOU WANT and you wont gain a pound.. as long as you dont have a lot of extra butter oil salt etc. pretty much eat natural food- apples fruits veggies. stay way from processed foods. (boxed, bagged- etc…..) very very bad
