      Just deep fry the whole Turkey in lard cuts the cooking time alot and comes out nice and juicy ever time mmm mmmm gooood ,,good for you too …

      but we stuff our turkeys an we have been doign that for 50 years back
      you cant get any better stuffing

      Thanksgiving and all of its accompanying traditions began as a pagan feast, honoring Pagan agricultural gods, which dates back thousands of years. A goose used to be the main course for the Pagan harvest festivals .These birds representing the sun god and was replaced by the more common turkey in America.

      The Pilgrims observed a Three Day thanksgiving in the fall of 1621,this was the same way , Pagan Rome celebrated there Pagan goddess Ceres in Rome and Athens

      I did this recipe a couple years ago. I came out great! The turkey was picked clean by everyone, not a drop of gravy touched the moist breast meat!

      @StackedDeckMusic About 4:30 hours. Check temps at about the 4 hour mark.

      If your citing 4:30 from some chart and your using Alton’s method you’re
      going to be shocked….this will cook faster ….last 2 yrs my 19 1b turkey was
      done in approx 3 hrs!

      In regards to Turkey time. Notice he has a very shallow pan and the entire turkey is above the pan. if your pan is deep and your rack keeps part of the turkey below the pan then it will take much longer to cook. Maybe 1-2 hours depening on thickness of the pan (the pan is reflecting the heat away)

      If you get a ton of smoke when you do the 500 degree roast then next time or this time you should poor 2.5 cups of water into the pan

      DO NOT add sugar to this brine recipe, or that 500 degrees for thrity minutes part, WILL cause the turkey to brown MUCH more than one would like. I found out the hard way.
