hi can i frreze these
@otoncin
Hi again otoncin,
As mentioned before I am not an expert on freezing food as most of the food I make is eaten fresh.
However as far as I understand you can freeze sausage rolls. From what I have read, it appears that freezing them before cooking or adding the egg glaze is the best way otherwise they will loose their crunchiness.

I finally managed to make these (pesto , cranberry, plain) and the kids loved them. The only thing was that the pesto ones turned out very dry so I don’t think I’ll do those again. The cranberry ones were ridiculously good.
Cheers mate.

@SeanFHoward
I loved the cranberry ones also the mustard ones are great!
Thanks for trying them out.
I bet they have all been eaten?
Nice to hear from you. OriginalNakedChef

PLEASE GIMME YO ADRESS IF YOU LIVE IN CALI
Are the sausages already cooked?
Also, what is the best type of sausage?
@TheHoltster
The sausages are Not ready cooked.
Use a sausage you like to eat, your favourite ones.
Maybe pork sausages.
OriginalNakedChef
Thanks. Tried with johnsonville sausages and with ground pork. Very bland with pork. Thanks for posting
@TheHoltster
Thanks for your comms and I agree sausages are probably the best to use as they are already flavoured.
OriginalNakedChef
I made these with hotdogs and they were absolutey disgusting! DONT USE HOTDOGS!
@PunisherPlaythroughs
Good tip!
@OriginalNakedChef i tried these with a seasoning of black and white irish clonakilty pudding, absolutely fab.. u shud try it with this pudding if its available to you..
@pires091
I like that idea!
I quite like black sausage. I had a quick look and could not easily find “black or white UIrish Clonakilty pudding” I may have to source from a speciality shop.
I can find some other black sausage.
I will do a bit of searching and next time I make the rolls, I will give it a try.

Ground pork, homemade bread crumbs, an egg, salt & pepper, chopped sage, margorum, makes a great stuffing.
@DUMBIEDYKE
Thats sounds like a nice stuffing to me. Thanks for sharing that
OriginalNakedChef
I use the british oxford banger recipe. I make bangers a lot at home, you can not buy them here in the states. But a sausage roll works best for entertaining.
@DUMBIEDYKE
I find that suprizing that you cant buy them in the states. Good for you making your own
As you say sausage rolls are great for entertaining.
OriginalNakedChef
My hubby is from Scotland, for years he searched for them. There is a company that makes what they call an Irish Banger, but it just doesn’t come close. I cut the fat off a port butt and grind my own meat and I don’t add the port fat, this has reduced his cholesterol….LOL. Thank you for the tips on how to make sausage rolls, I am going to make them for a Christmas party, I will let you know how it went with the guest.
@DUMBIEDYKE
I hope the sausage rolls goes down well and you have a great Christmas party. It would be lovely to hear how it all goes for you.
