Hearing Loss Ringing in the Ears
Auditory Decrease Ear Ringing
Ear Ringing is a condition that often is associated with hearing decrease. Characterized by a whistling or whoosing noise in your ears, and sometimes a mishmash of the two, tinnitus, can be annoying and off-putting, tinnitus is not generally a serious malady. Approximately ninety percent of those who suffer from tinnitis do have auditory impairment.
Still more forms of hearing loss are occupational hearing loss, moderate hearing loss, sensorineural hearing loss and sudden hearing loss.
Ringing in the Ears will often go hand in hand with sensorineural hearing lossimpairment, because this hearing impairment is the result of a type of harm to the nerves of the inner ear. With this kind of auditory loss, tinnitu is usually the result of broken nerve ending sending signals to the cerebellum through the auditory nerve, which then interprets the impulse as noise even though no noise is actually present. Often, wearing a hearing aid will help both afflictions simultaneously, the hearing loss and the ear ringing, as it could mask the constant ear whistling and buzzing sounds.
Ears Ring may result years after the onset of the auditory problem, and can be quite frightening in the beginning. When this occurs, an adjustment to the corrective hearing device worn by the person suffering from both hearing problem and tinnitis can often greatly reduce the tinnitis-related sounds.
Tinnitus is not, however, exclusively the result of auditory loss which means it is not consistently associate with hearing problems. There are many other causes that can result in tinnitus. For example, any problem or ailment of any of the 5 parts of the hearing system can cause tinnitus.
Menieres Disease, a problem of the inner ear that can cause abnormal pressure in the ear resulting in extreme dizziness and hearing loss, and always causes tinnitus. Otosclerosis, a disease of the stapes, bones of the inner ear, can also cause hearing impairment and tinnitis, as can damage to the delicate organs of the inner and middle ear caused by certain prescription medications such as aspirin and some types of antibiotics. A condition of the jaw, or TMJ, affects muscles of the head, jaw and face and may also result in tinnitis, although, in this case, hearing loss is not present.
When you suffer from shock or hurt, especially proximity to explosions and unexpected, loud noises at close range, may also cause ear ringing, and almost always auditory loss as well. Unfortunately, in these cases, both the auditory loss and the ear ringing are normally abiding.
Numerous conditions not generally associated with auditory loss can also be responsible for ringing in the ears. These include anemia, high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries and low levels of thyroid hormone. Normally the tinnitis occurs without any type of hearing loss; the tinnitus, however, could have an adverse affect on hearing capability in many circumstances.
Whilst in most cases tinnitus cannot be completely cured, especially when it accompanies sensorineural hearing damage or hearing loss as part of the natural aging process, there homeopathic remedies that can minimize symptoms thus making everyday life that much better.
