The Frugal Gourmet, aired by WTTW Chicago, was one of many cooking shows that I watched in the mid 80’s. I recall thinking that Jeff Smith was pretty hilarious when I was a kid. Check out this clip from The Spanish Kitchen. Jeff Smith covers cold tomato soup, garlic egg soup, chicken and chick-pea stew, and paella.

I know this is a weird question, but my husband already has tattoos on his forearms, and he has an appointment tomorrow to start on a sleeve. He is wanting to pursue culinary school. Chefs wear long sleeves anyway. Do you think it matters????

I cook bone in pork ribs in the oven at 250-300 degrees for 2-2 1/2 hours and they turn out perfect. Now I want to try it with pork chops but I am not sure how long to cook them. I have 8 about the size of an adult man’s palm.

I’m throwing a bachelorette party this weekend. We will be having a nice dinner (and cocktails!) before going out on the town. There will be about ten girls and I won’t have a long time to do any prep work. Any menu ideas?

I’ll probably do buffet style with a lot of munchy food (rum-soaked watermelon, various dips), but I’m at a loss for the actual meal. Ideas?
